The tourist attractions of the Mount Cameroon Region put together compose an outstanding tourist offer. Planning stay in the region it is recommended to combine the beach relaxation with exploration of the rainforest and a hike on Mount Cameroon, the highest peak of West Africa. The wildlife watching, cultural evening and village tour can be a good fulfil of the interesting visit to the area.
Apart from big attractions of the region, there are numerous small interesting sites, which the tourists may be interested in visiting, like:
Bimbia Mangroves
Bomana Waterfall,
Old German Lighthouses in Debundscha and on Cape Nachtigal;
Colonial buildings and history of Buea and Limbe,
Crater Lakes,
Limbe Botanical Garden,
Limbe Wildlife Centre,
Palm Oil, Tea, Banana and Rubber Plantations,
Flowers Fields etc.
These sites are easy to visit during one or even a half day tour. There are some attractions located along the road and it is possible to see and visit a few of them during a one day tour (e.g. plantations, German Lighthouse, Crater Lake).
The special attractions for adventurers can be 4X4 car tour along ring road around Mt. Cameroon. Along the road travellers can see beautiful views, remote forest areas and small traditional villages.
Possibilities of wildlife observations
There are possibilities for observation of wild animals during tours into the rainforest or hikes on the Mount Cameroon.
The Region is a real heaven for bird and butterfly lovers, because of relatively easy access to the observation areas (e.g. Ecotourism trail to Mann Spring or to P&T Station) and a fairly good chance of seeing birds and butterflies.
There are also big animals living on and around the mountain, but they are not as easy to see. Tourists are likely to hear chimpanzees or see elephant traces (in Elephant Opening) but to see the animals is quite difficult.
Tourists shouldn’t be afraid of snakes. It is really rare for a traveller to see a snake because the animals see and feel people from the distance and hide themselves to avoid danger.
Possibilities of bathing
There are excellent bathing possibilities at the black volcanic sandy beaches around Limbe. Many Hotels manage beaches, where tourists are welcomed. The system of private beaches assures tourists an opportunity of a comfortable bath in the Ocean and safe stay at clean beach with access to restaurant facilities. Some of the beaches also have swimming pools.

There are also some crater lakes in the area, but they are considered as sacred by locals and bathing is not advised.
Possibilities of practicing sports in open air
Hiking: Mount Cameroon Massif gives excellent possibilities for hiking tours. 1 to 5 days tours around the mountain (of different level of difficulty) are organised by Mount Cameroon Ecotourism Organisation (Mount CEO), an NGO settled in Buea, which assures well-trained guides and porters for mountain tours.
Water Sports: Easy beach access along the coast gives the tourist the wide opportunity to perform water sports. Unfortunately only some of the hotels offer water jets or boats for rent. Some of them can also organise canoe, piroque or sailing boat trips to the ocean and mangroves.
Tennis: There are tennis courts in Buea - Mountain Club, Muea – Sport Centre and Limbe – CDC, Sonara.
Squash: The squash hall offers only a Mountain Club in Buea
Golf: Likombe Golf Club Tiko located on right side at the entrance to the town (going from Limbe or Buea) is open for all golf lovers.
